Anyone get the impression..
that Bush has been waiting for this moment to be a pushover?
He stepped into office with an almost religious zeal for bipartisanship. Like he wanted to be a lame-duck President from day one. Now that he has what he wants, he’s bowing to every whim the razor-thin Democrat majority has. Hell, he was bowing to their pressure when they were in the minority.
He doesn’t even look like a defeated man. He looks jubilant. Like now he gets to be the East-meets-West compassionate conservative he’s always wanted to be.
